Silicon window is a polished piece of pure silicon (Si) that looks like a filter. It starts transmiting somewhere between 1000-1100 and by default it's not designed for CCDs that go blind at ~1100 nm ;) I was trying to catch Venus night side with it (as I did with RG1000) but today I didn't got any signs of the night side. I'll try tomorrow with RG1000 and Si side by side. The phase of day side may be to big.
