DMK 41 vs Point Grey Grasshopper in solar astrophotography

Rolf Geissinger compared DMK41 with PRG Grasshopper GRAS-14S5M-C for his solar astrophotography. As you can see on the images he provided - Grasshoper provided better results. The increase in sensitivity is clearly visible. The PRG camera is equiped with ICX285 - a CCD known from DS cameras (DSI III, Atik 314L) and also it uses new Firewire 800 interface which allows it to send up to 15 full frames per second. You can also look at Rolf other solar images made with this camera.

QHY revealed full list of their planetary cameras (multipurpose cameras). They should be available for order next month. We get 14 bit A/D, optional TEC cooling, and new and sensitive CCDs compare to for example The Imaging Source cameras. QHY IMG0H and IMG2S looks like the hottest ones (QE of both is above 60%).
